Why have I got premium CommentLuv on my site?
I don’t just have premium CommentLuv on this site. I have it on every WordPress site I do for clients. For me it captures the essence of the blogging community and demonstrates the values of sharing, encouraging and giving back. Blogging is often a labour of love and it’s tough to get noticed online if you are on a limited budget. CommentLuv gives a little lift for people who add value to your blog by making relevant and interesting comments which keeps the interaction on your site flowing.
What do I get with premium CommentLuv?
Premium CommentLuv is a powerful plugin (in fact it is 4 plugins in 1). It allows people to leave behind a link to a specific blog post on their site when they comment on your blog. You can set it up so that if they add you to Google +, like you on Facebook or tweet your post they get the opportunity to choose to link from one of their 10 latest posts.
You can also set it up to give ‘link juice’ by allowing ‘do-follow’ on the links, which means that Google robots show their link on your site as a back-link to the commenters site. (Often you can spend ages linking to sites by leaving comments and asking for reciprocal links but if they are set as ‘no-follow’ they won’t be recognised as back-links)
You also have G.A.S.P. which is a plugin which prevents automated spam bots from spewing out irrelevant comments on your blog. A human being needs to tick a box to prove they are not a spammer. Some people use it instead of Askimet which can sometimes spam legitimate comments. I’m testing this at the moment to see if it makes a difference. It also validates track-backs to make sure they are not spam too.
Additionally you get Twitterlink which means that people can leave behind their Twitter ID. When you hover over their name on the comment it shows a link to their Twitter profile.
And finally you get Keyword Name which allows the commenter to leave a keyword rich link to their blog. If I comment on a CommentLuv-enabled site I put my name as ‘Andy Britnell @Blog Coach’. I therefore get the link to my blog as a keyword link like this: Blog Coach. More useful payback for your valuable commenters.
Overall you get a plugin that improves the interaction on your site, gives your blog social proof because of that interaction and allows you to reward your community by sharing something of value back.
So please go ahead and comment below or on any of my other posts to see for yourself what it does. Remember to add http:// in front of your website URL and share the post using the CommentLuv links. I look forward to reading your thoughts!
Note: If you fancy having premium CommentLuv on your blog it is now available to buy at a very good rate and with numerous bonuses so get it now whilst it is being promoted. But be quick the offer runs out shortly.

Hi Andy,
I also have Commentluv+ on my sites and openly welcome the interaction and comments. With the community and diverse range of sites that Commentluv is installed on you have a great place to get out there and interact with other bloggers.
When Commentluv+ was announced and launched I knew I had to have it. It is such a fantastic plugin to have for your business. I agree, install it on every site you own!

Hi Chris and welcome to my blog.
Thanks for leaving a comment. It’s good to get some interaction going rather than listening to the wind whistling through your blogs and watching the tumbleweed drifting by
That’s what’s so good about Commentluv – other bloggers flock to your site to get in on the action and get noticed and you can go out and return the favour by commenting on theirs.
I’ll be popping along to yours very soon.
PS. Dont forget I have Keyword Name enabled so like Nishadha below you can leave a keyword rich link behind

Hi Andy,
Thanks for the tip regarding the keyword name being enabled, I must remember that for future reference.
I know what you mean about the wind whistling… Sometimes we can have great blogs, but nobody interacting. It can leave you feeling like nobody is reading your posts.
Now enter Commentluv+ you get interaction and your traffic grows on top of this. You finally get some interaction and know that people are actually reading your blog. Once they see others comments they feel more inclined to leave their own. So the interaction grows as well.
I love Commentluv+

Another great point about the virtuous circle of getting comments Chris. Once it starts it encourages others to chip in.
As you already know, you need to keep encouraging the interaction by responding to comments to make sure visitors feel welcome and that their comment is valued.
You need to be a good host to your commenting community. If you look after them you will also motivates other people to stick their neck out and tap something out on their keyboard.
Thanks Chris

Hi Nishadha
Congratulations on being the first blogger to use a Keyword Name link and thanks for your comment. You make a great point about building a community – you don’t need tens of thousands of random visitors to your site. Just 1000 loyal fans who love what you do and will give you a shout out on their blog or social media channels!
I’ll be looking into your blog carefully to see what I can learn.

Commentluv premium is a great plugin for bloggers in order to get good comments about their blogs which usually help that blog owner to improve the quality of their blog. I am also looking forward to add commentluv into my blog.

Hi Mohani
Oh please do put Commentluv on your site – even if it’s only the free version it still adds to a blog in many ways.
There’s a good deal on Commentluv for a few more days so may be worth buying it now whilst the price is low for a developers license (you can use it on multiple sites) and there are some really great bonuses.
Nice blog by the way – similar information to Tim Ferriss (4-Hour Body) – see my post Keeping fit for Blogging

I too bought Commenluv Premium a few days ago and I surely can vouch that it really is one of the best WordPress Plugin made. It has so many features that you get overwhelmed when you start using it for the first time. Andy Bailey is a genius for coming up with such a plugin

Yes it is a bit of a beast but Andy has provided some great training videos to help you deal with that.
Some other bloggers have shared their settings too. I manage my settings to encourage visitors to share my posts on Social Media. It depends on your audience, the maturity of your blog and your objectives as to what will work for you.
Thanks for dropping in.

Hi Jac
Thanks for dropping by and leaving a comment – always good to get some feedback. Commentluv is loved by some and not by others. I think it depends on your values and what you think is important. Giving something back to those who visit and comment seems to feel right and make perfect sense as far as I can see!
Dec 25, 2011 @ 10:56:29
Without doubt the basic version of commentluv was one of the best plugins I used on another of my other blogs. My only regret is not pulling the trigger earlier on the premium version, although reading through the comments here I’d say $67 is still a bargain. It’s worth it just to have GASP.
Like you say Andy, it’s good to give a little back to the readers. And nice site here, I’ll be coming back.
Whilst writing, can you recommend any decent premium theme resellers for wp?

Hi Billie
Your site is coming on nicely too. Blog posts have thinned out recently for me due to being busy on numerous projects for clients but please come back as I have lots of ideas for the site in future.
GASP is indeed a useful thing to have for dealing with the robots out there. Cleans up your trackbacks too.
Premium Theme resellers: I’ll do a post about that but in the meantime check http://www.wpmeta.com

Hello Andy,
but the fact that the url’s link comments are tagged with “nofollow” doesn’t remove also the real interest of it?
JC invites you to read What to do in Portugal?

Sorry to take so long to respond – I didn’t quite understand what you meant at first but now I get it. You’re right – just because the post is no-follow doesn’t mean that people aren’t going to be interested and come over to your site. Ok – so you don’t get a visit from a Google robot but a real live human being is more than enough recompense.
We’ve got an invite over to Portugal so will be going out there later in the spring. I’ll check out your blog.
Thanks JC

Hi Kombet
A very good question – mine is definitely a do-follow blog and you can always visit my blogging friend Ana Hoffman at Traffic Generation Cafe for a list of blogs with CommentLuv which shows you if they are do-follow or no-follow.
See: http://www.trafficgenerationcafe.com/commentluv-enabled/ (Ana hasn’t updated my site yet as it shows as being no-follow!)
What is also useful is that she gives the Google ranking so if you want great backlinks choose the ones with a high rank to comment on.
The only problem with such lists is they go out of date quickly. However if you Google ‘CommentLuv enabled blogs’ you’ll find other people sharing CommentLuv lists.
Good luck with your blogging and thanks for the comment.
Andy

Good job Nicola. Are you using the free plugin. The premium commentluv plugin comes with GASP which is a very good spam plugin. Good luck with keeping the conversation going. It’s good to get feedback otherwise the echos get annoying!
